I am going to college now. As math has always been my problem area , I purchased the course books in advance. I am plan on learning a handful of chapters before the classes start. Any kind of pointers would be much appreciated that could help me to start studying math tutor software myself.

Although I understand what your situation is , but if you could explain in greater detail the areas in which you are facing struggling, then I might be in a better position to guide you. Anyhow I have some advice for you, try Algebrator. It can solve a wide variety of questions, and it can do so within minutes. And that’s not it , it also gives a detailed step-by-step description of how it arrived at a particular answer. That way you don’t just find a solution to your problem but also get to understand how to go about solving it. I found this program to be particularly useful for solving questions on math tutor software. But that’s just my experience, I’m sure it’ll be good for other topics as well.

Even I made use of Algebrator to get to know the concepts of Pre Algebra a year back. It is worth putting the money in for the the purchase of Algebrator since it offers powerful training in Intermediate algebra and is available at an affordable rate.

I remember having difficulties with distance of points, binomial formula and conversion of units. Algebrator is a truly great piece of math software. I have used it through several math classes - Intermediate algebra, Pre Algebra and Algebra 1. I would simply type in the problem from a workbook and by clicking on Solve, step by step solution would appear. The program is highly recommended.
